St Matthew’s Lutheran Church in Holt Michigan hosted the Seikichi Iha symposium on April 22 2023. Training symposium with Seikichi Iha, 10th Dan Hanshi. Over the years, Mr. Iha and his students have made a significant contribution to Sensei Hutchcroft’s growth and understanding of the “soft” blocking methods attributed to Mr. Iha’s first teacher, Shinpan Gusukuma.
Sensei Seikichi Iha is a Michigan native since 1976 and still operates his Original Okinawa Karate dojo in Lansing Michigan.
Sensei Iha has taught traditional Okinawan Karatedo for more than 60 years all around the world (including Okinawa, Guam, the Philippines, and across the United States). He leads an organization of over 30 dojos from around the world.
