Symposium
July 19 – 21, 2024
The gathering of the clans is a premium event that will have 3 Days of Martial Arts training sessions and seminars where you can meet and greet some some of the foremost senior sensei representing the families of Matsumura Seito Shorin-Ryu. Sensei from the US will share their journey in this art at the Double Tree Hilton Hotel in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Mr. John Hutchcroft, Hanshi 9th Dan, Matsumura Seito Shorin Ryu, Koeppel Ha, is sensei at Okinawa Village Karate Dojo in Michigan.
Hanshi Jeff Ader, Hanshi 9th dan Kenshin Kan Shorin Ryu, North American Representative for the Kisei Family Matsumura Seito.
Also Presenting
Mr. Marlon Laws, 7th dan Machimura ya Hakutsuru te, one of Master Ron Lindsey’s senior students. He studied Kenshin Kan Shorin Ryu, achieving a 4th dan prior to studying with Hanshi Lindsey the last 15 years.
Mr. David Schielein, 9th dan, Matsumura Seito Shorin Ryu, Koeppel Ha. Mr. Schielein started his training at Mr. Koeppel’s Knoxville dojo in 1968. He is a large double bladed axe recipient and a Senior student of Hanshi Koeppel. He has trained extensively with Shifu Liu Chang I in Feeding Crane Kung Fu and has excellent analogies of that Hakutsuru crane systems as it applies to Matsumura Shorin Ryu.
Mr. Randy Lloyd, Hanshi, 9th dan, Matsumura Seito Shorin Ryu Koeppel Ha, started his martial arts training in 1974, at Mr. Koeppel’s Knoxville Dojo in Peoria and trained with him until Master Koeppel died. He is a recipient of the Large Double Bladed Axe, has a practice in orthopedic adjustment and has an excellent background in human anatomy as applied to martial technique. Mr. Lloyd has dojo in Brimfield, Illinois.
Mr. James Price, Hanshi, 9th dan, Matsumura Seito Shorin Ryu Koeppel Ha. Mr. Price started his martial arts training in 1974 at Mr. Koeppel’s Knoxville Dojo in Peoria, Illinois and trained consistently with him until Master Koeppel died. He is a large Double Bladed Axe Recipient, A member of the Bushido International Society and a recipient of the Melvin Wise Award.
This is an open event. All styles are welcome!
3 days of training starting Friday afternoon at 1 PM and ends Sunday afternoon.
$150 includes all sessions
$100 for Saturday only
